Nena and Pops come watch football!

You know you have a pretty awesome "Nena and Pops" when they drive 9+ hours to come visit just to come watch you play in your last football game! John (and the other 2, too!) are lucky little boys! John's football season is just about finished, and Nena and Pops were dying to see him in action. They decided to come for the weekend and see his game that was on Sunday! They got in on Friday and the fun began! They brought presents (like always), they helped the boys carve pumpkins, we fed the ducks, they took B and J to Chuck E Cheese, and they watched the boys while mommy and daddy went to the Tech game Saturday night.

After church and brunch on Sunday, it was game time! John did GREAT and showed them how he likes to score touchdowns (he had three)! We were all so proud of him and so glad they got to see a game in person. Quin was miserable the entire game (it was cold, tired, and he has some pesky teeth that need to pop on through), but it was so worth it to see our STAR shine! Thanks for coming to see us, Nena and Pops. We love you both lots and can't wait to see you all in a few weeks!

And one funny story I just want to remember....I was out grabbing some pizzas when Nena and Pops got to our house. One of the "gifts" they brought was a BUCKEE hat. If you don't know what Buckee's is...my inlaws could tell you all about it! It's kind of a family joke, but they think that place is just the best place ever (we probably would too, but we've never been to one!). Anyways as I was driving up, Braidy had the hat on and yelled, 'Momma! I got some Buckee on my head!"

Trunk or Treat!

Last week we went to Braidy's school's "Fall Festival" for some games, treats, and trunk or treat! We had a NINJA, a PIRATE, and a DUCK! They played some fun games and got some yummy candy. I thought the whole thing would be inside so I neglected to put shoes on B and Q...Mother of the Year goes to ME! ha. So we had to RUSH through the trunk or treat part because it was getting COLD and my children had no shoes on (I was informed that pirates don't wear shoes)....but we had a great time!

Rangers or Cardinals?

So the World Series is in full swing (get it?)....the Rangers are up 3-2, with the next game tonight in St. Louis. I am NOT a baseball fan, I really don't care who wins. I would like the Rangers to win, because I'm a TEXAN, but if St. Louis wins, I will be happy too, because Papaw is the biggest Cardinals fan there is....so it's a win-win. Personally, I think this little fan looks cute in either team's apparel! I am glad we got a chance to wear these 2 shirts...the only 2 baseball shirts we own!

MishMash

I've been a bad blogger lately....so this is a catch up....some fun pictures that need to be here, but might be a bit random! I've been super busy with invitations lately, so my time at the computer has been strictly business lately, and not much "fun"!

So throughout the THOUSANDS of pictures I have taken in the last 3ish years (for some reason around July 10th, 2008 i began taking a million pictures....) I am in probably less than 1% of them. I'm always behind the camera, and I'm ok with that, as I'm not the one I'm trying to capture. And even less of those are pictures with my husband! We really need to get better about taking pictures with each other! We went to a wedding last weekend and a friend took this picture of us. I really like it and think it DEFINITELY deserves a spot on the blog!

Quin has been so funny lately...and into EVERYTHING! Nena and Pops sent the boys a special package this week with marshmallows and fruit rollups (they know our boys well!) and John had taken his marshmallows to his room. Ryan had just asked me where they went, and I went to his room to see if they were in there....well, here's what I found. This boy was PROUD and HAPPY!

The other night I found Quin in his bed like this. He had taken his pants off by himself and looked quite content.

We had burritos for lunch the other day....we had beans in our nose, eyelashes, eyebrows, everywhere!

The other day, Braidy was playing on our bed, and got stuck behind it! No wonder he was screaming for me!

John has been super busy with football lately (practice 3x a week plus a game!) but he is GOOD!!! He has scored numerous touchdowns and probably gets almost every tackle on the guy with the ball. He is an awesome running back and linebacker...he is going to take after his daddy and uncle Todd on the football field I think. He is loving it and we are loving watching him be the star! Here's his team and picture!

And lastly, the other night I was taking some pictures for my stepdad and his grandboys - LuLu had Quin and was playing Peek A Boo with me...pretty sweet!

The end. I'll try to be better...but I'm thinking this will be a busy season on the invitations side! Christmas card season is here!

11 months old!

One more month before my baby boy becomes ONE year old! Precious boy is just growing up entirely too fast. However, he is so much fun these days and full of a sweet sweet personality. He loves to give hugs and kisses. He laughs and laughs which is the most contagious sound ever. He loves to be held and hates to be left alone. He loves to get into Scout's food and water, and if he sees you coming he'll crawl even faster! He has 4 sweet little teeth on the bottom, but is toothless on top. His eyes are a mixture of everything, but pretty hazel most days. I still cherish the fact that I get to still nurse him 4+ times a day, as I know these days are numbered. I'll even go to say, I love our middle of the night snuggles that I get to enjoy almost every night (yes, a little sarcasm here!) He says "Mamma" fairly regularly, although I am not certain he's made the connection between that word and me. I think he muttered "bye bye" today, but it might have just been a baba sound. We love you! Time to plan a fun party for a fun little guy!

T-pa turns 90

My grandfather celebrated his 90th birthday this past weekend in Temple. We were SO glad we were able to be there with him and the rest of the family (most of them anyways). We loaded up early Saturday morning, drove to Brownwood, ate at Underwoods (you would have thought it was Christmas morning the way my husband was acting....I've never seen him so excited since our wedding day! kidding...kind of)...and then arrived in Temple around 3. We freshened up a bit and headed to T-pa's house....decked out in our Tech gear since the game was that night.

The boys immediately found the mud and dirt to play in...found some roly poly's...lost said roly polys, and spent the rest of the night looking for the roly poly. And yes, once it got dark they still were looking, they just found some flashlights to help out.
Luckily, D-ma came to the rescue with a basket full of toys, and they also LOVED T-pa's walker/chair thing. They were all great and had a great time!

We had a great dinner with lasagna, bread and salad, but the best part was the amazing chocolate cake....T-pa would definitely agree!

We were so glad we could be there with our T-pa. It was the longest, shortest trip ever, but we wouldn't have missed it. Not everyone gets to celebrate their loved one's 90th Birthday. We love you, T-pa! We hope you had a great birthday surrounded by the people who love you most!

hobbby-ing

I've been taking some pictures lately for family and friends just for fun...but I've loved how they've turned out. Here are 2 of my most recents...my nephew Crockett (2 1/2) and my sweet friend, Reagan's new baby girl, Scarlett! Photographing newborns is no joke! Scarlett was always ready to party as soon as we started taking pictures! ha!
