Remodel: After!

Yay! There is an after! We still have a few things we need to do in order to be 100% done, but this is 95%, and that's good enough for a blog!

Here's the bathroom!
Pretty cabinets built by Chad Hill.
Tile and floor by Yates Carpet
Hue Home Furnishings painted the mirror for me to match the fixtures
shower curtain: Target
Colors: trim/cabinets: Sherwin Williams' West Highland White
Wall color: Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
Granite by Rockwater Granite

Braidy's old room became Quin's new room!
Same paint color and trim color!
Carpet by Yates Carpet

John's old room became John and Braidy's new room! They love sharing and it all fits in there perfectly!

The End! Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Remodel: Before/During

Early spring we began the REMODEL project on about 1/4 of our house. I'm kicking myself for not taking true "BEFORE" pictures, but everything was not in great shape. Braidy's old room was BRIGHT blue, John's room was a dingy grey, and the bathroom was yuck-o. We were going to completely remodel the boys' rooms and our guest/boys bathroom. It. Needed. It. We had what we wanted in mind, but who knew it would be SUCH a big project. Ryan did a lot of the demo himself, but we had the majority of it done by professionals. Ryan could probably have done it all, but between starting a new job, and raising a family, there was not time for him to tackle it all!  Here are some before and during pictures...BOY, was it a MESS!!!

Our poor wood floors in the hallway. I never thought they'd look the same again....

New texture!

before carpet and paint...we had just ripped out the old stuff!

New bathroom cabinets!

Getting ready for bathtub tile

New floor tile...my favorite!

Pretty new tile!

New granite and sinks!

Now this is a part Ryan and I did by ourselves. I just helped. But we hung all trim and crown moulding. What we thought would take a few hours took ALL NIGHT LONG. We were up until 4 or 5am hanging this stuff because the painter was coming the next morning!

water and paint fiascos

I love this series of pictures. Sweet Quin was (very) happily playing with the water hose on one of our first warm/summery days of the spring. He then put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger a little too hard and shot himself in the face....he stood there shocked for a minute and then boo-hoo'd. Luckily, I was out there with my camera practicing a few things....and I caught it all. Too funny!

That same day, I made them sidewalk paint and somehow boys know how to turn ANY activity into a huge mess. Luckily this was outside, but they had fun....that was all that mattered!
