braidy's day to day

Just some daily musings in the life of Braidy:
He eats what he wants and when he wants. He is S-N-E-A-k-Y. If you tell him NO, it's like he's on a mission to get what he wants without you knowing. He's successful usually. This was in the middle of the day....he's just enjoying a carton of ice cream, like it's a normal think to do! Really I think he was just eating every marshmallow out of mom's Rocky Road ice cream!
He hasn't taken naps in over a year, but almost everyday we have John and go to pick him up from school at 3:20 - he falls asleep in the car and stays asleep until 6 or so. I'd say he's tired, but he refuses to nap at home, and really, he's a PAIN to get to go to bed on days like this when he naps, so it is in everyone's best interest if he doesn't falls asleep.

Braidy spent some of his birthday money on this awesome bike helmet. I think it's the coolest, so does he!

huntin birds and fishin fish.

My boys are lucky to have a daddy who not only loves doing "guy stuff" like hunting and fishing, but loves to take his boys along for the ride too!

Several times this summer, daddy took the big boys fishing. They love to do this with daddy, and I know it will be a fun memory they'll have forever. One time in particular, he took Braidy, John and Crockett out to Buffalo...definitely earned "daddy and uncle of the year" that day!
Since it's DOVE season, Ryan has been hunting several times already, and Braidy and John got to go with him a once. They went one Saturday morning, SUPER early, and although I was too sick to see them off, these pictures make me smile. Quite the little hunters! Daddy said they didn't see much or kill anything, but I know they had a blast, and "shootin' the gun" was a highlight, with or without a bird!
Daddy and son time is precious. I am so thankful to have a husband that enjoys taking the boys on little excursions. They think their daddy hung the moon, and I think they're right!

withdrawls, words & wuwu

I caught the nasty tummy bug a couple of weeks ago, which means NO food, NO coffee, NO Sonic DP's. Well a couple days later, my sweet sister brought me lunch and a Sonic DP. If you know me at all, or if you don't you're about to learn, I have loved Dr. Pepper since the womb I think. You can usually find me with a large Dr Pepper in my hand or in my car or on my desk at all times. They're SO bad for me, but I didn't care. Love 'em. Anyways, back to the Monday after sick. It tasted TERRIBLE! I felt like I was drinking syrup. So I decided I didn't need them anymore. Fast forward ELEVEN days, and I still have not had one. The first week, I missed them. I missed my 3pm Sonic runs, and when we went to Blue Sky for lunch the other day, I reallllly missed them. This week I'm good. I don't miss them. I enjoy my water, and although I'm still drinking coffee in the morning, I feel better and not so FULL of sugar! Ryan and I have a bet that if I go until Friday without one, I get to go buy a shirt. I will win that bet.

Quin has started talking in almost full sentences lately. His favorite phrases are "are you comin?" "I did it!", "I want some", "I don't know"...and tons more. He puts words together that amaze me and make me laugh. He loves to sing along to the ABC's and our own version of "Where is ______". I started singing this song when Braidy was itty and now it's just a song we sing all the time. Several times a day he goes through our entire extended family + Tabor and ask where they are. Daddy? John? Braidy? Taybo? etc....and just today he's started saying "What?" after everything I say even after I have repeated myself 17 times....and he laughs. Stinker! I've switched his closet out to all 2T stuff. He's growing up SO fast. This is officially my favorite age. 18months - 2 is the bomb. I love it. I could eat this little boy up with a spoon. I told him the other day that he will probably always get whatever he wants because of his 3 dimples on his right cheek. Gets me every. single. time.

Braidy had a date with "Wuwu" today...or "Yulu" or as the rest of us call her, "Lulu"! He's been super attached to her lately, so I know he's having a blast being her only boy for a couple hours. He was so excited this morning and kept telling me "BYE" in the car before we were even to school yet. He wanted out of my car and was looking forward to his Lulu picking him up! They went to eat at Bless Your Heart, he ate his favorite, fruit, and now they're playing at her house. He asked me last weekend if after she got off work, if she could "Come and play with me for a yittle bit!" Sweet. I love quality time my boys get to spend with their grandparents. Super blessed little boys!

so fresh and so clean clean

Quin LOVES to brush his teeth. Sometimes he will be in the bathroom "bwushin" for half an hour. Or until I go in there and make him stop....if this child ever has cavities like his brother, I will be in shock. He's pretty good at it, he's not picky about whose toothbrush he uses, in fact, usually he will use all 4 and just rotate. He is known to steal toothbrushes around the house (if you're visiting, lock it up!), and he does use toothpaste. Floors covered in water are not uncommon. Neither are wet clothes. I think we have a future Dr. Quin Curry, DDS on our hands, ya'll!

MMO at Quin's House!

MMO was at my house today, so Quin and I had a fun morning with his friends! Let me tell you, these boys do. not. stop. Quin is probably the most chill one, but when they're all together they just go crazy. But they have SO much fun together and I love that so much. They don't fight (yet), they are sweet and play mostly independently, but some together! Today we played outside and played in Braidy's room for a while. Cape LOVED Braidy's room because he is old enough to love Cars and Toy Story toys. He was in heaven. Tabor and Quin just played peek-a-boo through the kitchen window.

Then, I got all brave and brought out the shaving cream. I thought we'd "Paint" with shaving cream. Although it was fun, it was not worth the 2.3 minutes where they were entertained by it. Tabor liked to eat it. Cape probably enjoyed this the most, he went nuts! While I was cleaning Tabor up, Quin and Cape decided to slap the table over and over, causing shaving cream to fly! Then came the really hard part. Clean up. I would clean one up, get another one, and the clean one would go back and play some more. Then one would run off. Finally I got everyone cleaned up, and they all went home smelling like Barbasol. MMMM!!!
Then we went for a wagon ride. This was fun, but pulling them around the block made me hot and tired and sweaty! They LOVED it when we would have to go in the street by the alleys. They would just giggle and giggle. It was too cute. Then Tabor decided to hit Cape over and over and over. Not in a mean way, just playing and Cape just laughed. Quin and Tabor would kiss every so often, and then Tabor would just put his hand up to Quin's mouth, and he'd get a kiss...Danielle and I decided soon we'll enforce the "cheek only" rule, but right now it's just so sweet! The boys definitely had a blast. We will definitely be going on more walks. The jury is still out on the shaving cream or anything like it.
This post was mainly for the momma's of these precious boys, so they could see all the fun we had today!

marvel...

No, this won't be a deep post about how I marvel at life, my husband, and my boys...although I do that quite often these days, but this is about the newest Marvel Comic Heroes straight from the LBK....

Braidy spent some of his birthday money on these masks today, and I could NOT stop laughing when he put on "Smash Hulk" as he calls him. This makes me smile. So we all had some fun with the masks. Here are my super heroes!

busybusybusy...day.

Our day was a little busy today....and now I'm sitting here working and unwinding a little. A little "ME" time if you will. I don't usually need much, if any, of that, but today, I do. So I am.

Poor John suffers from terrible allergies, poor guy sneezes a zillion times a day, and can rarely breathe through his nose. It was time to make a visit to the allergist. He was SUPER brave and despite the 60-something pokes on his back, he only flinched. No tears, nothin. I was so proud of him. He ended up being allergic to several of the molds, and several trees...but she thinks some nose spray and an anti-histimine should do the trick! I can already tell he's better after ONE nose spray! YAY! I know he will feel so much better and be relieved not having to deal with that everyday!
Because he was so brave, he got to pick lunch before we took him back to lunch....his first choice? Out of ANYWHERE? McDonalds! YUCK! What is it with kids and that place. Oh yea, the toys. They gotcha just where they want ya! I very nicely asked if he would like another place....ANY other place, and he decided on Cane's...yummy, yummy Cane's. I swear I gain about 13 lbs everytime we go there. I would drink the sauce if it were on the drink choices. So good.

Funny story about Cane's. The first time Ryan took me there (4 1/2 years ago) I HATED it. Granted, I was pregnant with Braidy, and I couldn't say the word "Chicken" without turning green and hauling it to the potty to throw up...so of course I hated the place that ONLY served chicken strips. I thought it was so lame and nasty. Now? It's the bomb. I love it. Their chicken, sauce, bread, sweet tea. YUM.

Ok back to our day. We finished with the dr., went to pick up Quin at Aunt Jess' house (lifesaver for keeping him during the appointment!), went to pick up Braidy from school, and went to Cane's. Ate a delicious lunch, took John to school for a couple hours, and went to pick up our buddy, Tabor.

Tabor's momma has been sick...and she's 8 months pregnant...and did I mention really sick? So we went to kidnap Tabor for a few hours so she could rest! Tabor and Quin played until it was time to get John. They had SO much fun together. They mainly played in Braidy's kitchen and with cars. I got a great video of them dancing to some music. Tabor has some moves. That kid!

The rest of the day was me dealing with grumpy kids (no naps = grumpy Quin!) but there was just not time to nap today, and playing with his buddy was so worth it! It was a full day, a fun day, and a tiring day! I am loving this cool and rainy weather that we had today. Such a nice change...although it did make me want to stay in my jammies, be super unproductive and drink coffee all day.
