Muddy Buddies, Obviously!

So, a few weeks ago we had a night where we got a decent amount of RAIN! I know, exciting times here in the desert! So, that morning, the boys wanted to go outside (of course, we let them) and i'll let the pictures do the story telling here!
Obviously, Quin was in H-E-A-V-E-N! He was so muddy but was the happiest kid on the block. Braidy and Crockett were also in their element, but managed to not get quite as dirty as Quinny.

Obviously, we took more than one bath that day.

Obviously, we were thankful for a full hour of happy and entertained boys, no matter the mess that we would have to clean up later.

Obviously, our brand new jammies that we had gotten for Easter might have a few mud stains still, but what article of clothing do we own without a stain or 2 on it....none.

Obviously, little boys are happiest when super dirty!

SHINING STARS!

We have 2 STARS in our house!

John had his first grade play last night and he was a BUG! It was a super cute play about spring-time picnics and all the bugs that bother us! John did awesome with his speaking part (he actually got to do it twice because someone forgot to go up there) and both times he nailed it! HE sang and knew all the motions. His mask was bugging him because it kept coming off, but I can't say I blame him! He was definitely the best little bug there! Way to go Johnny!

And this morning Braidy had his program with the other 3 year old class at his school. It was darling. They sang probably about 10 songs, had motions, props, and all. The first song, "Jesus Loves the Little Children" made me a little teary, so sweet it was! I was actually pleasantly surprised that Braidy participated, I figured he'd freeze up. I asked him this morning if he was going to sing loud and he said, "No, I'm just going to sing a yittle bit!" He did great though. He had one minor sneeze/snot incident, but Mrs. Ford came to the rescue with a kleenex...whew! What would we do without Mrs. Ford! Braidy, you made mommy proud! You were a STAR!!!

John's 7th Birthday Party

This year, John wanted to have his party at Main Event! He had several friends, cousins, brothers, family, come celebrate with him! He is definitely a loved little boy! The first part of the party was bowling. The kids all had a blast, and got pretty competitive about it!

After bowling was PIZZA, cake and presents time! Everyone was starving, bowling takes alot of energy apparently! They scarfed down 4 pizzas in NO time, had a yummmmy cake (Quin might have eaten 3 pieces!) and John got to open lots of great presents just for him! Those boys (and a couple girls) were WILD and having way too much fun. We were ready to release them for GAME TIME. Trying to control that many 7 and 8 year old boys is impossible!

Each kid got a game card to play games with. They had a blast riding the rollercoaster ride, playing games, and earning tickets. Everyone got to pick out prizes afterwards, which proved to be the hardest decision. Ryan and I were just about out of patience at this point, but they were all happy and having a blast, so that's all that really mattered!

John got to invite 4 little friends for his first "sleepover"...so 5 7-year old boys at our house. HA! It was wild, but really they were all super sweet and pretty well behaved! They jumped on the trampoline, watched a movie and were all SOUND asleep when I went to check on them at 12:30. Not to bad at all. I was thinking they'd be up until 3 or 4am. They were up ready to play some more at 7, and after some donuts, they went non stop. Jumping, playing basketball, eating, playing football...being your typical boys =) We definitely survived, and John had a blast which is ALL that matters! It was his special day and I know he loved every minute of it!

celebrating Easter and funny stories

I have a LOT of catching up to do...that's pretty much the title of this season of life for me...."Catching up"...everyday I just try to play catch up, but there is still a lengthy list of things I need to get done. Oh well, I will hopefully get to them all eventually!

Easter! Easter was a couple weeks ago, but we better document it! The Easter bunny left the boys a surprise and we got it before we left for church. Poppa brought the boys over an Easter surprise that morning also!

We went to church and then went to brunch with the Stone's at the Overton (YUMMY). The Easter bunny was there, and everyone was super excited except for Quin. Same reaction as he had for Santa. Didn't want near the poor bunny.

After brunch we had an Easter egg hunt at Crockett's house. They did great, and had a blast. There was no competition, in fact, Braidy would show Crockett where an egg was, and Crockett would do the same. Quin did a good job too and found quite a few.

John got to our house later that night, so while I was at church teaching Sunday School, they had another little egg hunt so John could get some eggs, too!

Happy Easter!

Oh, before I forget. A couple funny stories that I want to remember forever. When Poppa and JJ were staying at our house, I guess one of them left a small bag of the "Whopper Eggs" and of course, Braidy found them and started eating them. We were in the car and as he was finishing one of the last ones, he said "I don't yike these EGGS!". I told him that the Easter bunny would be bringing him more eggs on Sunday. His response: Well, tell that bunny I don't like these eggs! HA!

And one more, as we were driving to church I was telling him about what Easter really means, and why we celebrate it. I was telling him about Jesus dying on the cross...getting to the point that Easter is when he ROSE from the dead! Well, after I told him (for the 1000th time probably) that Jesus died on the cross, he said, "Jesus died on the cross? Oh, that is TERRIBLE!" ha! After a good laugh I told him that while it was, indeed, terrible, there was a very very happy ending to the story in that Jesus rose from the dead...i'm sure by the time I was trying to explain it, his little 3 year old brain was already thinking about the princess that is locked in the tower (at First United Methodist Church, right by our church)....but it was a sweet moment from a sweet little 3 year old. I LOVE this age and the things that come out of their mouths!
