Birthday #8

Sunday we celebrated John's birthday....it was a day early, but on Monday he had a baseball game, so there was no time to do dinner and cake - so Sunday after we got him from his mom we went to eat at OHANA'S! It was delicious and the boys LOVED it. It's definitely John's favorite place. He's a pro and apparently goes there often....he knew everything there was to know about Ohana's! Braidy was enamoured by the cook and Quin was not sure what to think with all the fire and cooking going on. After a wonderful dinner, we met the Stone's and Lulu and Papaw back at our house for some delicious ice cream cake (John's pick!). We ate cake, opened a few gifts and the boys played together in the backyard. The weather was amazing and what a fun night of celebrating John!

The next day, Monday, John's real birthday, we started the day with some pancakes! We haven't had John on his actual birthday in several years, so he was SO excited to be able to have birthday pancakes with a candle....a little tradition I started when Braidy turned one. I love doing it for them, and I was so excited that John was so excited about it too! (It's the little things!) He went to school, brought donuts to his class, and after school we went to Sheridan's....birthdays always seem to revolve around yummy food! ha! The boys enjoyed every bit of their ice cream and we had a fun afternoon together until it was time to go to baseball....

Happy 8th Birthday to John! We love you SO very much and are so so proud of you. You amaze us everyday with the things you know and the things you can do. Here's to an awesome #8!

John's 8th Birthday Party!

John's 8th Birthday party was last Friday, April 5th, just a few days before his real birthday. He had several friends come play at Adrenaline City. IT was a blast. They did the ropes course, played laser tag, play football and soccer and ended the party with the trampolines, playing some intense games of dodge ball. It was so much fun, everyone had a ball! John said the best part was the ropes course, he loved being up high and having to climb, balance and concentrate on not falling! Happy Birthday to John!

John's Rangers Baseball

John's little league team is underway. After a tournament and a couple of games, he is a STUD this year. He's had several homeruns in almost every game. Poor Pops told him he'd pay him a dollar a homerun, he is going to be broke by the end of the season!

John is playing first base on the Rangers. They have gotten better every single game and I think they're going to turn out to be quite the little ball team. They're super fun to watch because they know the game and really good, too! I took just a couple of pictures at his game a couple of weekends ago. It's hard to take pictures and keep up with 2 munchkins at the same time!
 That's John on first base.....

braidy's first ever t-ball game!

Your first ever t-ball game is a big deal! At least to the momma it is!

A couple of weeks ago, Braidy's t-ball team "The Scrappers" had their first game. Rachy and I got there as it was starting and saw Braidy at catcher! It was hilarious and we were laughing the entire time. They are a bunch of 4 year olds who are CLUELESS. Sweet Braidy, love him, had not a clue. His head was in the clouds. The ball would be behind him and he'd be running towards pitcher, or it would be 2 feet away from him as the other team hit it and he just stood there and didn't go get it...but I did remind myself this was their first game. Ever. 2 practices don't really count.

So as the game went on, things picked up a bit. Balls were (kinda) being caught, being thrown to the pitcher, and they actually hit the ball fairly well, all things considered! The first few batters did run to the pitchers mound, and almost all of them had to be reminded where to run to get to first base. Towards the end of the game, they did have that down, so I say progress was made!

They had fun and really did well for the first game. It was very entertaining to watch and was great for a good laugh. I can't wait to watch the next game to see if they remember anything! ha! Ryan is coaching and I have to say, he is SUPER patient with them and does a fabulous job. Not everyone can herd cats quite like him!

pretty weather in march

So it's been almost a month since my last post, and LOTS has been going on, obviously. And, now that it's 12:52am I might catch up a bit. Everytime I sit down to the computer, I have a million things to accomplish, and blogging just never happens to be one of them, but it is important to me so I have to find a way to keep up!

So we'll start almost a month ago, probably days after my last post. It was a couple of days that were GORGEOUS and definitely got us in the spring and summer mindset. One of the days, Braidy was bored and asked to have a picnic. He helped me make the spread, and invited Crockett over to partake as well. I thought they looked so cute out in the front yard having a little picnic.

And later that weekend, the boys were all outside enjoying a popsicle. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures, because I just adore the boys in baseball hats. I think it's the cutest. Sweet Quin will put on a hat or grab a bat about a million times a day and say, "I'm ready for bay-ball!"...he's going to be a player one of these days. A baseball player.

And then in one picture you'll see Braidy chopping down "The Lorax Tree". It's our dead tree in the front which is the only reason we let him "chop" it down. But every tree is a Lorax tree and he is always looking for seeds to plant them. We love us some Lorax!
