Seven!

John turned SEVEN YEARS OLD this past Sunday...which also happened to be Easter Sunday! He was at his moms all weekend, but he came to our house later that afternoon and we were so excited to see him and celebrate his big day! He hunted some Easter eggs (seperate post for Easter festivities), and at his request, we went to dinner at 50th Street Caboose! While Ryan and I long for the day he asks to go to Outback or 50 Yd. Line (which will be in the near future, I feel sure), he loves "Copper Caboose" and was so excited to go! He immediately told Ryan to tell our waiter it was his birthday so they would sing! I remember growing up, my sisters and I would hide and cry if they came to sing to us, and John was begging for it! So funny! After we ordered our food, he asked daddy, "When are they coming to sing to me?" HA! We finished dinner, and then it was TIME! I think he was really excited although his face won't really show it =) He ate some ice cream...and then it was time for some games! He and Braidy played and won lots of tickets. John played the same game the entire time (didn't take long to spend his $) but he got plenty of tickets to buy himself a whoopie cushion, a slap bracelet, a toy airplane, and some candy. Braidy and daddy took a little more time playing different games, and Braidy bought some Nerds and a bracelet. Quin just walked around in awe of the lights, noises, and activity going on everywhere!

After dinner we came home and Aunt Jess and Crockett came over for some birthday cookie cake! We gave him a basketball to go with his new basketball goal that he got to pick out on Monday night! We are excited for a place to play some bball now! I better brush up on my skills so I can beat everyone in some HORSE! =)

Happy 7th Birthday, John! It has been a fun year watching you excel in so many things! We love you so much and are so proud of the little man you've become!

Random sentences and pictures

Last week Quin got his very own cup of ice cream....think he liked it?

Last week was wet and rainy...which means the boys were dirty and muddy!....and Happy!

Last weekend was St. Patrick's Day...here are my dudes in green doing some yardwork. And obviously the next day was HAIRCUT day!

Braidy is nuts. End of Story.

Quinny kinda has a fro if I let it grow out...except his hair has a mind of it's own. One day it would look like this, and the next day it was just kinda wavy, but not "curly"...crazy I tell ya. I love me some curly Q!

We caught John in the bug catcher!!!!

Birthday #2: Noah!

Our 2nd nephew, Noah, turns 2 just 3 days after Crockett turns 3. Every year, it's a busy time trying to be 2 places at once, but so far we have made them all...and we wouldn't miss either for the world! On Saturday morning we packed up and headed to Dallas to celebrate Noah's 2nd birthday! It was a pretty easy drive and both boys did REALLY good the whole way. Quin might have fussed 30 minutes total, but that is a victory in my eyes. We didn't even have a DVD player....which turned out to be no big deal.

We got there as Uncle Todd and his friends were putting the final touches on a new playscape for Noah's backyard! It looked awesome and the kids had a great time on it at the party! Sweet Noah was in his ELMO shirt (theme for the party) and a bunch of his friends came to his party, even a couple little girlfriends...apparently he is quite the little ladies' man at school! The kids played, slid down the slide, jumped in the jumper, ate food and cake and made potted plants for their favors. Braidy made one for just about everyone at the party! It was pretty sweet, Nena got her's first and thought it was about the sweetest thing ever!

After the FUN party we went to dinner...and it was not so fun. Poor Quin has a terrible cough that got HORRIBLe that night, so he was barking like a dying seal, he didn't want to sit down, he wouldn't eat anything (except a sopapilla at the very end, go figure) and he wanted to be held. We have officially entered the "DO NOT GO OUT TO EAT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS" stage. But we enjoyed our company, as Nena and Pops were there with Todd, Marci and Noah, too! That night the "big" boys (Braidy and Noah) spent the night with Nena and Pops at the hotel and they had a BLAST. THey were riding on luggage carts, running up and down the hall, jumping on the beds and having pillow fights...every little boy's dream! We were a couple of floors down from them, with a poor little baby who was feeling awful. I got some good snuggles in that night, so we definitely survived!

Sunday was Noah's actual birthday, so we opened his presents after a yummy breakfast, Marci and I hit up the mall for 2 seconds (I was dying to go to H&M...total disappointment), we ate lunch (delicious fried shrimp...Braidy helped Nena peel them), and then we headed back to Lubbock. Talk about a SHORT trip! We were there about 24 hours, but it was totally worth it and we wouldn't have missed it for the world! The only thing (or person) missing was John! He stayed home because he had a baseball game...he was missed in Dallas, that's for SURE!

Happy Birthday, sweet Noah! You are such a FUN FUN little 2 year old and we sure had a fun time celebrating you! We love you SOOOOO much and your cousins cannot wait to play again soon!

Birthday #1:Crockett!

The past week has been SUPER busy and SUPER fun with 2 very special birthday celebrations, so here's what we've been up to at the Curry residence!
Last week, our nephew Crockett turned THREE years old! His birthday was on Thursday, so we started the day with some birthday donuts....turns out, he is a PRO at blowing out the candles. He was a sweet birthday boy and even let Braidy have a turn blowing his birthday candles.

The boys played HARD all morning, and then we went to one of our faves, Blue Sky for lunch. However, it was CHILLY outside and much too cold to play in the sandbox, so we ate quickly, and then headed to Chuck E Cheese! I have NEVER taken my children to this place, in fact, I kinda refuse to, but it was a special occasion, and it turns out, it wasn't so bad! My FABULOUS in-laws always take the boys there, and they love it, of course! It's especially great if you go at 2pm when NO ONE else is there! The boys had a ball, played and played and played some more. We left and Jess and i were WORN out....and so were the boys! After we got home Crockett crashed at his house and Braidy would have I am sure if he would have sat still for 2 minutes.

Friday was his family party! We had pizza, presents, and a big chocolate chip cookie cake....YUMMY! We had a fun time with everyone, and sure love our sweet 3 year old nephew!

I know he had a super great birthday, but I am sad it's gone. He used to tell me almost daily, "Hey mom (yes, he calls me mom), It's almost my "BUR-PAY!" and I will miss him telling me that.
Crockett, you're a special little man. We are SO SO blessed to have you 2 doors down so we can see you almost everyday and watch you grow up and become a FUNNY little guy. Your aunt, uncle and cousins love you SO much!

"toothless"

Usually when we talk about "Toothless" it's in reference to the guy on "How to Kill a Dragon"...until a couple weeks ago when John lost BOTH of his front teeth within a week or so of each other...so now he is the "toothless" we refer to! Once he gets a loose one, he works and works to get it out, usually having great success in not a very long time. He lost his first one at his mom's house, and the second one, dad had to pull. He tried first with floss, but John wasn't having that...so daddy just wiggled it and wiggled it and after a few tries, out it came! The tooth fairy is going to be a busy lady these next couple of years!

Valentine's....a little late

Valentine's might have been weeks ago, but it's never too late to post pictures of my little loves! Here are three of the handsome-est little Valentine's....

Here was Braidy's Valentine's party at school...it's funny because me and another mom are always snapping pictures during their prayer before they eat, but seriously, who could resist...priceless. Mrs. Ford also played a game with them, and here is Braidy being blindfolded and spun around and around!

Visit from Noah and Ryan's 31st!

Uncle Todd, Aunt Marci, and Noah came to visit us this past weekend, and it was a great time! Noah fit right in with the rest of our wild boys...and other than a few incidents, they all got along great! Noah especially warmed up to John, and John was so good with him! We had a pretty busy weekend. They got here on Friday afternoon, and we immediately made a stop for lunch at Rosa's (Aunt Marci's most favorite place in Lubbock!)...we played all afternoon and ordered some Orlando's pizza that night, with Sheridan's for dessert...another favorite of Aunt Marci's....no wonder we get along so well!

Saturday was Ryan's 31st BIRTHDAY!!! I got up and made breakfast, made the smoke alarms go off with cooking bacon (although I did NOT burn it...really!), and we got busy playing. We loaded up all 4 boys and took them to Chick-Fil-A and they really acted great, considering it was so busy and we had 4 little boys! After naps, we celebrated Ryan's birthday with a cookie cake and a couple presents! That night was my mom's 60th surprise birthday party, so our babysitter came over (she is seriously a God-send!)....and we left all FIVE boys with her....Crockett came too! And she handled it like a champ. I just hope she comes back! We went to my mom's party, which was a huge surprise to her, and it was wonderful. She cried, of course, when she saw everyone, Rach and her brother, Uncle Tim, especially. We stayed for an hour or so and then went out to celebrate Ryan's birthday at Caprock. Some friends met us there, and we had a fun fun time! It's RARE we all get together without kids, so I am pretty sure EVERYONE really enjoyed themselves!

Sunday was church and time for the other Curry's to fly back to Dallas. We had a great weekend, and, although it was super busy, we love spending time with our family!
