B's Final Field Trips

Braidy had 3 final field trips in the spring semester that I haven't blogged about yet!
First up: The Science Spectrum!
They got to go see the Omni Max movie about penguins (so interesting!), play in the regular museum, and see the penguin exhibit too!

Next up: Steven Fite Concert
There were TONS of pre-k's and preschools at this concert! He was very entertaining and the kids had a great time listening to him and his show!

Last: Rock Solid and Mr. Gatti's!
The kids got to go to the coolest gymnastics place to play for a couple of hours. They had a blast jumping, flipping, swinging, and running!
Afterwards they got to stuff themselves as Mr. Gattis!

Great Wolf!

For Christmas this year, my mom got each of us a gift card to the Great Wolf Lodge for our family to take a weekend trip there together! We loaded up early on Feb.15th and headed to Grapevine to stay the night! After an uneventful trip (which is always a good thing) we arrived just in time to get our wristbands and head to the waterpark. It was massive and packed (sold out actually). We thought going somewhere like that over Valentine's weekend might be a good thing, but it didnt' matter, still packed and crazy. But a blast. The boys were in heaven. They played, and swam, and rode slides, and played until they were worn out (or until the parents were worn out). John was super brave and rode all of the big slides. Braidy rode one and was done. Crockett surprised us all and LOVED the big slides and rode them several times. Quin and Bowen were content playing in the little kid area and occasionally going in the lazy river or wave pool. Between us all, we kept up with the kids and got to have a little fun ourselves as well!

That night after everyone had their fill of the water park, we ordered pizza, went to storytime and then grabbed some yummy ice cream from the ice cream shoppe downstairs. Needless to say, everyone was exhausted and slept soundly that night!!!
The next morning, we grabbed breakfast (and coffee....there's even a Starbucks in the place, amen!), we hit up the waterpark again. Everyone was moving a little slower this day, but they still had plenty of energy to play and have a ball. After a few hours it was time to clean up and get ready to head home. Lulu bought each boy a souvineir to take home. Braidy, Quin and Bowen all got a "Build-a-Bear" animal that they got to stuff themselves and pick out an outfit (they are slept with every night now!), and John and Crockett got a magic wand that is very cool!

What a fun family trip!!! We had a blast! It was short and sweet, but we made some awesome memories to keep forever! Thanks momma for a wonderful vacation!!! The boys will never forget it!!

Braidy & The Bulldogs

This winter, Braidy and several of his friends played in a short t-ball league that lasted 6 weeks. It was super laid back, very fun, and a great experience. Braidy loved it and loved playing with his buddies. They were the BULLDOGS and did an awesome job!

Snaggle-tooth!

February 13th was a BIG day at the Curry house! Braidy lost his first tooth! Or should we say, Daddy pulled Braidy's first tooth! Dad had been working on getting that thing out, so a few tries one night and one big try the next night and it was out! So exciting for everyone, but especially B, who has been pretty interested/scared/excited about the whole "losing your teeth" thing. He's been a bit worried about what will happen when he loses all of his teeth (we assured him he would grow new ones!) but once that first one came out it was pure excitement! The tooth fairy visited and he was thrilled with 4 $1 bills.

Just a month later, on March 23rd, tooth number 2 came out (dad pulled again!)! He's a snaggle for sure! He's trying to keep the tooth fairy busy!!!

we're alive!

So it's almost been 3 months since I've blogged.  The lack of blogging definitely IS NOT due to lack of events going on in the Curry home. Instead I feel like we've been going non-stop.  However, I have great intentions on fully catching up just as soon as possible!!!

In a nutshell, what's been going on?
1. new baseball season for 2 boys! 4+ games a week, plus a few practices in there = busy! But we are loving it and I am loving this season. It's the first time I've really gotten to actually watch the games. Before I was always chasing a baby or 2 around! Yay for newfound freedom in watching the game!

2. Remodel. We are completely remodeling (floor to ceiling to closets and everywhere in between) the boys rooms, the boys/guest bathroom and the hallway. Our home is completely in disarray. It's bad. There is sawdust/dust/whatever layering everything in our home. As I type, I'm coughing up a lung. I'm convinced it's due to inhaling an equivalent of a large oak tree in sawdust. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are finally reaching the end. The painter starts tomorrow and the carpet is laid Friday! Then the "moving back into the rooms" begins and I couldn't be more excited!

3. We've taken a few short weekend trips. One to Great Wolf Lodge in January with my family, a trip for Ryan and I to North Carolina, Oklahoma the first weekend of Spring Break, and then to Dallas the last weekend of Spring Break to celebrate Noah's 4th birthday.

4. School, stuff, life, etc.

So I have a lot of catching up to do!!!! Stay tuned for tons of posts in the next week or so.......

braidy the biker!

This past weekend (1-11-13), Braidy learned to ride his bike with NO TRAINING WHEELS! It was a beautiful day outside, and daddy decided the training wheels were coming off! We gave it a shot back in the summer, but he wasn't anywhere near ready, this time, he was 100% ready! Dad ran with him down the street one time and by the time they came back by our house, he was riding by himself! I was so excited and proud, and so was this cute little 5 year old! He was (and still is!) on cloud nine! I love watching my kiddos reach milestones! There's nothing like it! After he was done riding for the day, he showed me that his tooth has, indeed, gotten looser! Daddy thought we should pull it! NO! Only one huge milestone per week! This momma can't handle too much growing up at once.

dad+john volunteering day

I love that Ryan is selfless in his giving of time, especially around the holidays. He wants to instill this in his kids, so he started this year by bringing John along to help him serve at the food bank with some of his CityBank coworkers. They helped load people's cars with food to last throughout the holidays. I think it really opened John's eyes to how much we have and take for granted, and that some people don't even have food, much less presents to open on Christmas morning. I think he enjoyed it even though it was freezing that day and they were outside for 3 hours. I know they made a difference and their volunteering was very much appreciated. I desperately want my kids to grow up appreciative, but I think sometimes that is hard in today's world since they are given so much, and never WANT for anything. I hope we can continue doing this to teach our boys what Christmas is all about!
