100 days of 1st grade!

John has already been in 1st grade for 100 DAYS! He had to do a project where he glued 100 objects to a poster for class. We looked in our pantry and he decided to use PEANUTS (thanks to Quin's birthday party, we had TONS leftover!) So John and I used the hot glue gun and he glued all 100 of these to his poster! He was super proud of it, and he should be!!!

Quin the Energizer Bunny

Sweet Quin. This is a real life post, about what REAL life looks like these days with you. While I couldn't love you any more if I tried, you also wear me plum out! I thought Braidy was the busiest baby/toddler, you are proving me wrong in so many ways. This sums up my days with you

"If you're not on my hip, there's a mess to be cleaned up somewhere!".

You GO GO GO 100mph ALL.DAY.LONG. Stopping only to nap for a couple hours here and there (which I am thankful for, so I can rest some too!). You are a CLIMBER. In the past week, I have found you on top of my computer desk, on top of the toilet finding the hidden toilet paper, outside on top of the picnic table trying to get on the trampoline, on top of the kitchen table drinking my Dr. Pepper, trying to climb up John's bunk beds, crawling on the fireplace that he had climbed up on. It's a miracle we haven't been to the ER yet for stitches (knock on wood). Daily, he will pour all of Scout's food out, quickly followed by her water, he somehow knows when a bathroom door has been accidentally left open (I swear he has a radar that must go off) and he plays in the toilet water, (sometimes just water, sometimes yellowish water). He empties boxes of sandwich bags, he gets into mom's stuff in the bathroom, it is just never ending! He is an adventurer, that is for certain and he keeps me on my toes to say the least.

With all of this said, although I get super frustrated at times and exhausted, I am SO very thankful for this little ball of energy. He gives the greatest kisses of all times, and he has the sweetest smile. He is So funny and I love that he loves his little life, even though mean ol' mommy ruins his fun sometimes.

Are all little boys like this? Did I just get lucky and have 2 that gave me a run for my money? Do girls do this stuff too? Is this just normal toddler behavior?

Quinny- Thanks for keeping me young and for keeping life interesting! I LOVE You SO SO much!

Wrestle Mania

Sweet brothers, best buddies. Quin is now at the age where he can really play with Braidy....or wrestle. And Quin is usually on top winning! He is definitely going to give Braidy a dose of his own medicine soon enough! They have so much fun together and are usually super sweet...I love watching them love on each other and play....makes my heart happy.

Like Texas Tech Football

The other day, Crockett and Braidy were playing in the front room, when Braidy comes in to tell me Crockett is like "Texas Tech Football!"....really excited. We come in here to find Crockett looking like this:

Braidy had so graciously made him look like a football player (with eye black) but in this case, with colorful marker ALL over his face! We laughed (of course) and so they continued to make themselves look like Texas Tech. The good news was that these markers were washable (Thanks Uncle Dan!) and they came right off!

John tries BASKETBALL!

John's first basketball season is well underway! He hasn't played in a league before until now, and he is loving it! He is playing in the Upward, so it's super laid back, they don't keep score, and it's all about fun, learning the game, and being good sports. Just how every sport should be for 6 year olds! His little team is doing really good. It is fun to watch because basketball takes a great deal of coordination, which many 6 year olds are lacking. They do really well though - sometimes they'll run with the ball, sometimes they'll double dribble, but really, they have learned the rules and they play really well together! John has scored a few points in each game, and he sticks to his man like glue! Here are some pictures from his first game!

The Super Six.

This is going to be ALL over the place so bear with me...

#1. We got some new neighbors a week or so ago, and we LOVE them! No, really, we LOVE them. It's my sister, brother-in-law and nephew Crockett!!! They moved 2 houses down and we LOVE it! The boys play all the time, Jess and I watch each other's kids so we can run errands, get our haircut, etc. It's SO nice! It won't be long before Braidy just leaves and walks down there by himself I'm sure, but at least we know where he'll be!

#2. Those same new neighbors found out this week they will be having another BOY in June! Another nephew for us! We are so excited, and can't wait until our basketball team is complete! HA!

#3. Braidy is offically 3 1/2 years old. I wanted to do a whole post on this, but just didn't get around to it. Some of my favorite things he says/does these days are: Anytime he has an "idea" or says something, he'll ask me, "Does that sound like a great idea?", He and Ryan will exchange "I love You's" and then Braidy will say "We both love each other!", When I'm holding Quin and he wants me to hold him too, he will say "Hold both of your boys, Momma!", He is currently quite the Iphone gamer, so when we "buy" a new game from the appstore (that he knows how to get to and choose games from, mind you) when it's loading, he will say "It's Yodin'", or did it "Yode"? One day we'll be able to say our 'L's. He loves to play Hide & Seek, he always has his backpack on (usually full with his Toy Story 3 characters) and he will say "I'm going on a 'benture"....aka an adventure. He loves to assign everyone to a character....usually Alvin and the Chipmunks....He will make me, Quin, and John a chipmunk (Alvin, EE-dore, and Simon), and he is always Dave. And one more that just melted momma's heart...he was trying to get Ryan to let him sleep with us the other night (he almost had him...) and after Ryan said no, Braidy said sadly "But I don't have a momma in my bed!"

#4. John started basketball the other day. His first game was last weekend and it was too fun to watch. They did alot better than I thought (they have only practiced a couple times before Christmas) but they actually could dribble and shoot. My friend Kristen's little boy, Carter, is on John's team so I am looking forward to seeing her beautiful face every weekend, too! Double score!

#5. Quin is finally back to his old self after our trip/his ear infection...sleeping all night (THANK YOU JESUS) and being happy! Whew! However, he's like a little tornado. The other day he pulled out every sandwich bag out of the box and had them all over my kitchen floor. His new fridge magnets that he got for Christmas....all he does with them are throw them on the floor...over and over and over again. He found a roll of toilet paper yesterday (we keep them up on the counters in the bathroom) and he had a hayday...and I didn't even stop him because he was occupied and happy for about 10 minutes while I was getting ready! YES!

#6. And lastly....a good story that I hope to never forget....not that I could. Yesterday....I had Braidy, Quin and Crockett over here...Jess was home getting ready, and I thought I would jump in the shower SUPER fast .... it couldn't have been longer than 5 minutes, but I got out and immediately heard our front door (the glass door) shut. So I get a towel on, and come in the front room, where I left the 3 of them....no one is here. I look outside and see Braidy and Crockett just playing in the front yard. I look around and see Quin over by our side gate just chewing on a rock. I can't make this stuff up if I tried. So I run outside IN MY TOWEL with SOPPING WET HAIR and grab Quin, telling the big boys to get inside, pleading and praying that no one drives down my street while I am in the front yard in my towel. Prayers were answered, no one drove by. I promise I was running faster than I ever have. I hope no neighbors were looking out their windows around 11am yesterday, or they will be really worried about what goes on at the Curry household. Ahhhh. The joys of motherhood.

Headed South: Humble

Our final Christmas celebration was in Humble, with our Nena and Pops, and Granny, too! We drove from Bulverde to Houston, and were we ever ready to be out of the car!! Quin was super fussy...definitely not normal for him, but we made it. When we got there, I thought Quin felt warm, so I took his temp...he had 102+! No wonder the poor babe was screaming his head off in the car, he felt terrible! Ryan and I took him to a little ER clinic, and he indeed had an ear infection. We got meds asap and got them going, hoping he would be better the next day.

After the dr. visit, we opened more presents! Braidy looks VERY uninterested, but he had just woken up from a nap, and if anyone knows my child, you know he needs at least 30 minutes to get going and really wake up! Anyways, we were spoiled rotten by Nena and Pops! The boys were excited about all their goodies, and so were momma and daddy!

After presents were out of the way, we just had fun! We ate lots of good food, the boys had a blast taking baths in the jacuzzi bathtub, poor Nena got soaked, we went to the Children's Museum in Houston, we ate at Pappadeaux where I tasted my first raw oyster (not too bad!), we watched movies, played outside, went on WalMart trips with Nena, and tons more! We had a great time.

Poor Quin was pretty sick the whole time. He had fever the whole time we were there, and needless to say, we didn't sleep a wink at night. It was rough, but we survived. Quin is a WONDERFUL child, but he has never slept good at all when we are away from home...so add to that an ear infection, and it was just not good. However, for it only being his 2nd ear infection, I really can't complain!

We had a great time in Humble, and always love our time there! Christmas is officially over!
Pictures from the Museum...SO much fun!!!
This first picture is of Ryan's best friend from high school (Mara, who was in our wedding) and her 2 girls, and Ryan and our 3 boys. Mari (her oldest) is about a month older than Braidy), and Maci (who is about a month older than Quin).
