A few weeks ago, the little boys and I packed up and headed EAST to see our BFF's that just moved to Fort Worth. We had been having MAJOR Aunt D and Tabor withdrawls (Titus and Ty too of course) so we just went. Sometimes you just need some best friend time.
We headed there on a Monday and came home on Thursday. Here's a little of our adventures with 4 wild boys!
Monday we got there just in time to play and have dinner. We walked to their park and saw the awesome pool. It was HOT so we were so excited to try the pool the next day. Danielle introduced me to my new favorite place by her, Zoe's Kitchen, fresh mediterranian food. It was awesome. We let the boys play upstairs and in the water for a little bit. They were all so excited to see each other!
Tuesday we had one goal in mind: Hit the POOL. You know how long it takes to get kids out the door and ready to swim? That times 4. It took a while. Get kids in swim diapers and/or swimsuits. Get sunscreen on them. Load up floaties, pool toys, towels, and lunch. Load up all children and gear into stroller and wagon. Walk 10 minutes to the pool. Find out that it had in fact been vandalized the weekend before so it was closed for cleaning until FRIDAY. We are leaving Thursday. BUMMED does not begin to describe our little boys. We brainstorm other options and decide breaking into a neighboring subdivision would be cheapest and easiest. Who wants to take 4 boys 4 and under to a waterpark? Not us! So we asked the nice guy at the show home if we could visit their pool and they let us! Hallelujia! We were all excited!
After swimming and naps we hung out, played in the toys, Braidy made his own swimming pool in Tabor's empty sandbox, lots of nakedness running around playing.
Wednesday we loaded up and headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo! We got there just as it was opening. We saw all kinds of animals. The boys loved it all and really did pretty good considering it was SUPER hot that day! We rode the carousel, the train, and even gave the boys their first photobooth experience!
That afternoon looked much like the day before. Swim, nakedness, naps, waterhose running for several hours, eating crazy amounts of watermelon (Braidy) trip to the park, bathtime, and stories read by Uncle Ty. He's a good daddy and "uncle". He even bathed all 4 boys every night. Big bonus points. That night he even let Danielle and I go out on a "girls date night". We went to BJ's Brewhouse and had a cream soda, lemonade, a couple Pizookies and lots of girltalk. Great times were had.
Thursday we had to head home. Sad. We decided to go see about Central Market. We LOVED that place. It was amazing. It was a Market Street on steroids. The kids played on the playground (brilliant), we had breakfast, coffee, and by the time we were leaving our children were about to cause us to completely lose our minds. But other than that, we had a wonderful time before we had to leave. These boys are the sweetest and the best friends. Braidy could not get enough of Titus. He adored him. He wouldn't leave him alone. Ever. It was pretty sweet. And Tabor and Quinny just had a ball together. We've definitely missed Tabor since he moved. They had a sweet few days together, and so did the mommas! We can't wait to go back and play some more!
