Sesame Street Live!

Sunday afternoon, Lulu took us to Sesame Street Live! I was SO excited to go, especially to take Quin, since he loves his Elmo! We got there, took some pictures with some great props (btw, Quin has mastered the very, very, very fake smile. He does the bulldog/underbite look and it cracks me up....and frustrates me too!) and then went to find our seats. They were great seats, no seat there was bad....but then a friend of mine from church walked up to us and said she had 6 seats on the 2nd row and asked us if we'd like to move! Um...YES! So we marched to the front and got to see Elmo and his friends WAY up close. The boys were in awe. The first 10 minutes, Quin kept waving and shouting "Hi Elmo!", like Elmo was going to wave back! It was pretty cute though. Braidy definitely was the most "into" it, and we saw him dancing to a couple songs and answering all of the character's questions. Crockett enjoyed it too, but before intermission said he was ready to go home. He quickly got back into it though! At intermission we got cotton candy and got to go say hi to Cape! The 2nd half of the show was great and we ended up super sticky from our intermission snack. Quin did eat his ENTIRE bag of cotton candy, and later said that his tummy hurt. Duh.

After the show was over, we were ALL singing "Can't stop singing, can't stop singing" and Braidy even sings it still today! We had the best time. Thanks Lulu for taking us - the boys absolutely loved it and we will always remember it!

Nena and Pops come to town!

Nena and Pops came last weekend to visit and celebrate John's birthday! They drove to Dallas and picked up cousin Noah so he could come spend the weekend with us, too! We were super excited everyone was coming, and we'd been talking about it for WEEKS! These boys adore their grandparents!

Nena and Pops got to watch John and Braidy play baseball games (and Pops took the little 2 to see a helicopter that was at the fields!), they took all 4 boys to Chuck-E-Cheese (Quin had been asking daily to go there for several weeks), Nena and Pops cooked a fried shrimp dinner (everyone's favorite), she cooked me a TON of spaghetti sauce and meatballs (my freezer is stocked! and the boys LOVED helping Nena make meatballs....), of course brought all the boys a present to open, bought John his very own pair of Oakleys (he definitely looks like a pro baseball player now!), loved, loved, loved on the boys and then loved on them some more. They are all spoiled rotten, but that's what grandparents are for! We love our Nena and Pops! Time with them is definitely treasured!

Circus Program!

Last week, the long awaited day finally came....Program Day at school! This year, as 4 year olds, they do a Circus Performance, and Braidy was a Monkey! It was so cute! His class were all animals and did tricks for the audience. They sang several songs and Braidy even participated! In his past 2 programs, he has just stood frozen and silent and didn't sing a word...but this time he did and we were so proud. He also kept hitting the little girl in the face with his monkey tail...I think he was flirting a little, as Alex is one of his favorites! We loved the show, the Monkey in the middle was our favorite STAR!!!

EASTER 2013

Let's rewind a few weeks and hit up Easter weekend! We took a little trip to Dallas to hang out with Noah, Todd and Marci...and Nena and Pops too! We crammed a ton into the weekend like we always do, but it was a blast and we love spending time with our family!

Friday when we got there it was so nice outside so the boys ran around in the backyard and played. and played. and played some more!

Saturday, we woke up and went to a little Easter Egg Hunt that their church group put together for the kids. They got to hunt tons of eggs, and even saw the Easter Bunny! He was a little scary looking, but super nice! After that we got to meet Aunt Rachy and Big John for lunch....it was Rachy's BIRTHDAY! We felt super special that we got to see her on her birthday and spend a little time with her! We went to an awesome place that had a huge huge sandbox and toys for the kids to play in...genius.  Like BlueSky on steroids. After lunch and a nap we headed to White Rock Lake to canoe. The boys love this and Ryan loves me being his canoe partner because I am SO much help. We saw several snakes and turtles and a few guys participating in illegal activity. Dinner was at a delicious Cajun restaurant where we had fish, crawfish and more deliciousness. We almost got to witness a fist fight between the manager and some customers. Entertaining to say the least! That night, Nena and Pops took ALL FOUR boys with them to stay at the hotel. Grandparents of the Year? Um...YES! They had a ball and I think everyone got at least a little sleep!

Sunday we went to church and back home to a fabulous meal. After lunch we got to hunt some more eggs, do some confetti eggs and eat lots of candy!

We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to come back to Dallas. We always have a blast when we're there and the weekend always seems SO short!

quin oh quin on quin.

This kid. He can drive me bonkers. But he has me wrapped around his tiny little fingers tighter than ever. and the bad thing? He knows it. He flashes his multi-dimpled little grin at me and I turn to mush. I couldn't even get mad at this because it was the most adorable thing ever. But next time? The spankin' spoon is coming for him! I'm almost positive I have an almost identical picture(s) of Braidy doing this exact thing....boys and their mud.
