Happy 32nd Birthday, Daddy!

Sunday was Ryan's 32nd Birthday. Since the Curry's were here, we celebrated on Saturday night. The Stone's joined us for Chinese night at Gilbert's....holy moly, it was SO good. If you haven't been there before and you like chinese food, go. Now. We had a sitter for all of the boys, and we were done with dinner by 7:30. We HAD to do something else. Our goal was to stay out until 9. Geez, we are lame! We had NO idea what "cool" people do on a Saturday night. We tried the Recovery Room (that probably dates us a bit. That was Marci's "spot" in law school! Ha!) We drove by but it looks as though the Recovery Room is no longer. Now it looks like a regular hotel conference room or something. So we thought, maybe the Overton? Drive there, and on the way is Cafe J's....so we went there instead. It was E.M.P.T.Y. Turns out 7:30 is a bit early for the "going out" scene. But we stay anyways and have a blast. Between Ryan, Todd and Chris, we didn't stop laughing for 2 hours straight. As we were all yawning and ready to turn in for the night, it started filling up. We almost stayed out until 9:30, so that was a successful night! I know Ryan had a blast, and I am so glad we got to go out and be adults and have some fun to celebrate his special day!

The next day, for his actual birthday, we ate some delicious cake (strawberry, but with no real strawberries on top, his orders) and sang to him (he LOVES being sung to...), and spent time together as a family. As I took the Curry's to the airport, I gave him a birthday nap. We all know how much we love naps, but we usually feel a little guilty taking one during the day....well I ordered Ryan to take a nap, and he obeyed. Happy Birthday, Honey! Later that day we played some t-ball in the front, jumped on the trampoline in the evening, and celebrated with one more piece of cake that night with some of my family, too.

Curry Cousin Time!

Todd, Marci and Noah came last weekend! One of our most favorite weekends in the year is when they come to visit us! We adore them and wish they lived closer! Noah is almost 3 and SO MUCH FUN. The boys had a ball with him. Noah loves his Braidy, though. Quin is the "baby" that bothers them, John's super cool, but just a little old, but Braidy is Noah's buddy. Don't get me wrong, they all play really great together and love each other so much. I love watching them together.

This weekend was a blast. There was some bike riding, some wrestling on the trampoline, some baseball watching, some cake eating, lots of eating actually, some bathroom plans drawing (love having an architect for a brother!), some duck feeding, some park playing, some imagination using, some clubhouse hiding, some pizza for breakfast eating, some coffee drinking, some birthday celebrating, some nap taking, and TONS of cousin and family time!

LBK BLZRD 2013

Hard to believe with the 70-80 degree weather we've had lately, but early last week, we had a BLIZZARD...or at least a LUBBOCK BLIZZARD...if anyone is reading from the Northeast, I'm sure they're rolling their eyes, but it was crazy weather for us Texans. We got 3-4 inches of snow, but that morning we also had Lubbock winds. Wind+Snow=Blizzard. I couldn't tell if it was snowing or if existing snow was being blown everywhere, either way, you couldn't see anything and it was cold. Needless to say, it was a PJ's, movies, hot cocoa kind of day. But the boys were stir crazy. We invited Crockett over. That helped for a little bit. They wanted so bad to go play in the snow, but I was afraid they'd blow away. So, I saw a friend's facebook post, and I copied her. We brought the snow to us. We made snow ice cream, but what was more fun for the boys was just playing, measuring, stirring, and making a big giant mess for mom to clean up later. It kept them happy for a good while, so I wasn't complaining! After lunch and naps I decided to let them go outside because the wind had died down. We bundled up and out we went. They loved it and had a ball. Quin didn't last too long, but Braidy stayed out there until I made him come in. He made a beautiful snow angel. Quin ate some snow and loved it. They were definitely the cutest snowboys I've ever seen!
