Mud Dobbers

If we keep getting rain like we've been getting the past few days, you'll probably see a few more posts almost identical to this. I just can't pass up taking pictures of REALLY muddy boys. It's too fun and too cute. The clean up is not very fun, but it's definitely worth it to see them so happy!!!

This particular day, Ryan and I had told them "NO" to the mud. We were having a big weekend that weekend and we didn't want more mess to clean up. But, Quin doesn't listen very well...he's 1, so of course, off into the muddy abyss he went....quickly followed by his middle brother, and oldest brother was the most hesitant, but we finally caved...why not!?!? It was chilly outside, but that didn't stop them. A chattering chin or two was the only sign of them being cold. Braidy is NOT supposed to throw mud (or SLIME as he calls it) on the house, but as you can see from a few pictures, there was mud ALLLL over the back of the house. He told daddy "I was just paintin' the house!" So we couldn't really get mad at that...or at least I couldn't. I laughed, and Ryan asked me if I was a parent or a friend! ha! I thought that was hilarious, but I really couldn't help but laugh...and Ryan laughed too. Eventually. Here are the pictures from mud day #2...

twenty nine

I turned the big 2-9 this year (April 30th)....making next year "the" big year...but this year was a fun celebration, too! Ryan cooked burgers the night before my birthday...we had family and a couple friends over and it was small and sweet. Ryan got me the most amazing cake EVER from a new local bakery...and it was heavenly...the icing I could have eaten by the pound, it was delicious! I am not a big celebration-type girl, so the smaller the better for me =) I don't like much attention on me...it makes me anxious!

On my actual birthday, Aunt Jess had Braidy come down and make cupcakes with her and Crockett! They did a fabulous job and they were SO tasty! I would argue that they were better than the $4 cupcakes that you can buy at the local bakery. Homemade just does it for me!That night after a baseball game we came home and enjoyed a cupcake (or 2!) and opened gifts. Thanks to everyone for making it a very sweet and special birthday for me!

gettin' down on the farm!

Let's back up several weeks.... We decided to go to OKLAHOMA (Weatherford to be exact) to go visit my aunt and uncle and cousins! We grew up going here because my grandparents lived in this sweet, quaint, little town, so we LOVE any chance to go back. It is very special to us....and our boys continue the love for it, because they have a blast anytime we get to go. Here's a little of what we did the 3 days we were there! We played in ROCKS and DIRT!

We rode tractors, the combine, and even drove a Semi!

We discovered our LOVE for CATS! Too bad for my boys, they'll NEVER have a cat as long as their under my roof...i'm very allergic! We called Quin the "Cat Whisperer"....they would just surround him and follow him everywhere!

We saw a pig that was VERY stinky!

We rode horses!

 Quin even got a haircut!

We played in the backyard, where Aunt Darla and Uncle Tim (and Mere!) set up a tent that used to be Aunt D's when she was a kid! It was really fun!

We threw rocks into the horse trough.

We played in Uncle Time's (very tall and big) boots!

 WE played in the treehouse!

We visted the cemetery where our Memo and Papo are buried.

Braidy and Crockett loved their special time with Aunt Darla and Uncle Tim when they went to water the cows...they thought that was really neat.

We had a BLAST!!!! These little guys were in HEAVEN out at the farm.We are already looking forward to our next trip East!!!
