Halloween 2013

We love Halloween! Not because its' a demonic holiday, but rather a fun time where the kids get excited about dressing up and getting tons of candy! I say it's 100% innocent and fun! And, as parents, we get to raid the candy stash 24/7, too! Score!

This year, we had a Ninja, a Minion, and Buzz Lightyear! Quin was a little obligated to be Buzz since both brothers (and cousin!) had been Buzz in years prior. He loved it though and was the cutest Buzz around. Braidy LOVES painting his face, so a minion was perfect, his face got to be painted yellow, and Crockett was his minion buddy, too, which made it even cuter! John was with his mom for Halloween, but he got to come over for a quick picture, and he was the coolest looking Ninja around.

We went trick or treating with our cousins and neighbors. The boys (all 5 of them) sprinted from house to house, and were so much fun to watch! Our neighborhood always has an awesome turn out and lots of houses participate and hand out tons of candy! We see friendly faces along the way, and love looking at costumes. The minions definitely got the most comments, everyone loved them!

Pumpkin Patch 2013!

We love going to the Pumpkin Patch! It's always something we look foward to, and this year was no different, except Nena and Pops got to go with us this time! They were in town for the weekend so we thought it'd be fun to go get some pumpkins! The boys ran around looking for the perfect pumpkin. Quin filled up his very own wheelbarrow with tiny pumpkins just his size. Braidy and John were looking for the biggest pumpkin, and they found several! We had a great time and Nena treated the boys to big pumpkins perfect for carving!

Braidy's Sock Hop!

Last week at school, Braidy had his first ever SOCK HOP during PE class! Use your imagination on his outfit...mom didn't think ahead, so the night before I realized we didn't have a white Tshirt and his converse were too small. So I decided not to stress and make do with what we had! It worked.

Several moms were there and it was so much fun watching the kids. Braidy's favorite part were the balloons. He wouldn't dance with mom (so embarrassing!), and he wasn't super thrilled about learning the hand jive, either! He did like looking at the old cars, chasing the girls, and knocking the milk bottles down...and playing with the balloons! Here's a few pictures of the Sock Hop!

Fast forward 11 years...these 2 will be trouble!

John's 3rd Grade Program

Last week John had his 3rd grade program at his school! It was a 50's themed musical and all of the kids wore white shirts, jeans and some awesome sunglasses! John did awesome, and always had the cutest little grin on his face....a little embarrassed maybe to sing in front of tons of people! He had a speaking part and of course, nailed it! It was a cute show and we were all so very proud of his awesome performance!

Braidy's Field Trips 1 & 2!

Blogging has taken a back seat to life lately, but let's play catch up, shall we?

Let's start with Braidy's first two field trips of the year! I'm so thankful that I've been able to go on both with his class and a few other moms. I love watching him interact with his friends and be involved in his school.

First field trip was about a month ago. They first went to Barnes and Noble where some students from UMC read them a book about safety. Then each kiddo got a brand new bicycle helmet! They were super excited, and then wondered where their free bike was! Ha! No filter for 4 and 5 year olds, that's for sure! After Barnes and Noble, it was time to head to Legacy Play Village for some fun at the park! The day couldn't have been more perfect! The kids had a blast running and playing! Braidy was of course "roaring" at people chasing them....as he tends to do 24/7! The girls chased him and he scared them away. Typical! After a little playing time, it was lunch time and then time to head back to school!

Field trip #2 was this past Tuesday and we went to the At'l Do Farms Pumpkin Patch! It was a blast! It started off with a hayride out to the pumpkin patch. Each kid got to find their own pumpkin and have the nice tractor driver come and cut it off of the vine for them. Braidy searched and searched and searched some more and finally found "the one". Quin found one right away and then another one for John, too!

After the hayride was over, it was time to go on the Cow Train. Quin just jumped right in there like he was one of the kids in class. Walked in line with them, obeyed the teacher, it was too funny. Braidy and Quin rode the train with one of Braidy's good buddy's and they smiled the whole way. As they returned, Braidy had his hands up in the air like he was riding a roller coaster! Brave thing, he is! After going to see the farm animals, it was lunch time and Quin and I decided it was time to leave! We had the best time and were so lucky to get to go with his class!!!
