Family Vacation 2011

This year we decided to head south to the BEACH!!! If you know me at all, you know I love hot, sunshine, and the beach! We went to Port Aransas Sunday through Friday...and yes, we drove. Honestly, I was dreading the drive with 3 young boys, but they did REALLY well, and the drive was not bad at all! On the way there, Quin did not make a peep until we were about 20 minutes away. He won the gold star that day! That first night after we arrived we ate at "FINS" that was recommended to us by someone...but we were less than impressed. Bad service, bad food, will not go back. Lesson learned!

Day One (Monday)
Our first full day we made a beeline to the BEACH! The boys loved it and had a ball playing in the water, looking for seashells, playing in the sand, going out really far with daddy, and running wild. The water was almost too warm. It felt great, but considering how HOT it was outside, it could have been a little cooler. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed getting some sun! Quin stayed with mommy most of the time, and tried to eat as much sand as possible. We tried and tried to get him to take a nap under the umbrella but he wasn't having it. As you can see below, he crashed in the car before we even drove off from the beach. We stayed out there a couple hours until we were all worn out and hungry.

There's something about being at the beach/lake that make homemade sandwiches taste SO good! We had a sandwich for lunch and took a nap. There's also something about being at the beach that makes everyone take really LONG naps! We all rested and geared up for round 2. This time we headed to the pool that was at our condo/cabin. As long as there is water, the boys were always happy.

That night we went to dinner at the local pizzeria...more like a CiCi's pizza. Kinda yucky, but the kids liked it. At least they could all be loud and it really didn't matter! We fit right in with the rest of the kids in town! After dinner we did a little exploring and found a pier. We walked out on it and saw some people fishing and just saw the calmness of the ocean. It was gorgeous! After this, we were all exhausted and were ready for a good night's sleep!
